Your whole day
in one calm place.
Notes, checklists, reminders and habits — jotted down in seconds. Plan the day in the morning, close it in the evening, and whatever you don't finish quietly moves to tomorrow.
Everything a day needs. Nothing it doesn't.
Open the day. Close the day.
The glance card reads your day at a look. A morning “Plan your day” walks what carried over and what's timed; an evening “Close your day” wraps it up in two lines. The streak heatmap and the week's focus chart keep the score.
One line in, one keystroke.
On iPhone, the Add pill opens the compose sheet: notes, tasks, timed reminders and habits, filed in two taps. On the Mac, the capture bar is pinned to the popover — and a global shortcut summons a capture field over whatever you're doing.
Nothing gets lost at midnight.
Unfinished items move to tomorrow on their own — marked, not multiplied. Recurring ones start fresh instead.
Always a keystroke away.
On Mac, Rote lives in the menu bar with your remaining count on show — and the countdown, when a focus session is running. Press ⌥space anywhere to capture a thought. Tick something off on either device and the other already knows.
A timer, attached to the task.
Long-press any item on your checklist and start a 25-minute block on it — with five more minutes a tap away when you're in the zone. The dial follows you into the Mac menu bar, every finished block lands in your history, and the week's focus chart lives beside your streak.
Buy it once. Keep it.
One payment covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. No subscription, no tiers, no upsell inside the app.
Questions, answered.
Do I need an account?
No — ever. Sync uses the iCloud account already on your device, so there is nothing to create, verify or sign in to.
Where is my data stored?
On your devices, synced through Apple CloudKit in your private iCloud database. You own it; we run no servers and never see it.
Does Rote work offline?
Fully. Your device is the source of truth and every screen reads locally; CloudKit catches the sync up whenever you reconnect.
What does carry-over actually do?
An unfinished one-off task moves to today and gets a “carried” badge — moved, never duplicated. Repeating tasks start fresh each day instead of piling up.
Can I get my data out?
Yes — Settings has Export data, which writes everything to a single JSON file you keep. Import brings it back on any device. The live data is plain, readable files on device and in your own iCloud either way.
Is there an Android or Windows app?
Not yet. Rote is built natively for iPhone, iPad and Mac first — the same purchase covers all three.
